Who do I call in a psychological emergency?

If you are in crisis or concerned for your, or someone else’s, safety please phone 000 or alternatively present to your nearest hospital emergency department. 24 hour telephone counselling is also available through Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Call someone you trust. Talk to someone. Keep safe until you can get professional support.

What if I am not sure it is an emergency?

If you are concerned about whether to make a call, or not, about someone you care for, it is always better to make a call to someone who can make a professional judgement. If you are concerned, there is a concern, just call.
