Kim may be known to you already having lived in Townsville for the past forty years and a local to North Queensland. Through this time Kim has traveled and worked extensively throughout North West Queensland and has ventured to other states and overseas for both personal and professional experience.
Kim completed her Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate of Psychology at James Cook University. Amongst other employ, she may be best known for her work with the Queensland Police Service. Although Kim has specialization in the field of trauma, she is dedicated to the field of clinical and health psychology and has vast experience with children and families, and organizational consultancy.
Kim bases her professional practice on clients’ basic needs, reviewing their current health practices whilst implementing strategies through a supportive and reflective environment. She aims to reduce psychosomatic illness and address clinical symptoms on a practical level, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR and other psychotherapy techniques. She is a very straight down the line person with a practical nature. Kim communicates in an appropriate companionable fashion relative to the person. She focuses on listening to her clients and understanding their concerns to address issues appropriately. She truly enjoys relating with those she works with, and loves to have a laugh with people.
Kim has a great love for training. She places an importance on having fun whilst ensuring participants gain full meaning of content. Kim has developed training packages for both government and non government organizations, and has been invited to address a variety of forums as a guest presenter.
